Pupil Premium
Central government gives funding for schools to support pupils from deprived backgrounds. This funding is called the 'Pupil Premium'. It is designed to close the gap in learning and achievement for those children from less advantaged backgrounds. At St Elizabeth, we are committed to ensuring excellence for all pupils. NEW ACTIVITIES FOR SPRING TERM 2013: Museum of Childhood Grand Explorers - for 5 weeks children and their grandparents have been creating Memory Trees inspired by their own childhood experiences. They were guided by artists from Magic Me, the UK's leading provider of intergenerational arts projects.
Coffee Morning every Tuesday 9-9.30. We will be meeting on 16th April to continue the planning of the school summer fete. Please come along for tea or coffee and join in the discussion.
French language class for beginners starts Monday 22nd April 1.30-3.00pm for 10 weeks, the cost is £56.25. If you are on benefits the sessions will be free. Sorry no crèche available!
KS2 Disco 26th April 6.30-8.30pm Tickets will be on sale from Monday 15th April for £2.00.
Speakeasy is a course to support parents with their children's growing up, starting 25th April 9.15-11.15am This course will run for 4 weeks and a crèche will be provided for pre-school children. The places are limited and must be booked in advance. Please complete an expression of interest form at the school office or speak to Sue Braniff.
Minor ailments surgery with the School nurse Debra Young-starting Friday 10th May 9-10am for 3 weeks. The nurse will be talking about accident prevention in the home, what should be in your first aid box, when to go to the GP or hospital with your child, chicken pox and head lice and much more.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it FEBRUARY/MARCH 2013 - Training sessions for parents looking to improve their job prospects: Smart Training (based at Canary Wharf) came to our school to discuss training opportunities for parents and staff i.e. Teaching Assistant and Childcare & Training. French Language course - started Friday 11th January 12.00-1.30pm, the cost will be £56.25 for 10 weeks. The class is free for parents/carers on benefits.
You, Your Children and their Catholic Faith Starting January 14th 2.15-3.15pm. Mr Purcell would like to invite you along to view a DVD and discuss key points regarding the Catholic Faith in a very informal setting. This programme will be delivered over 7 weekly meetings, talks include: who would be a parent? Why bother with baptism? How do children believe? The talks are a mixture of teaching and moving stories which arouse and develop questions that can be discussed in small groups. Parents attending are not expected to be experts on the Catholic Faith! First Aid Session for parents/ Carers was delivered by The London Ambulance Service on 21st January by Mark Bolding. It was highly informative session covering choking, CPR (cardiopulminary resusitation), burns and other emergency situations. We are hoping to repeat this session in the coming weeks. Adult Literacy classes will be starting Thursday 24th January 2013 1.00-3.00pm. All parents previously assessed are invited to come along, if you have not been assessed but would like to join the course, please come along and speak with the tutor. Speakeasy- Starting soon! This 4 week course supports parents to talk to their children about growing up, emotional/physical changes and relationships.
